Trinity is a growing faith-based church dedicated to building a community where faith, family and friendships thrive. We are an Anglican Church in Rock Island, IL serving within the AMiA. Our congregation is intergenerational. Our services and spiritual life seek to be an intersection between ancient and contemporary, reverent and down to earth by taking seriously the Scriptures, historical liturgy and practice along with the powerful work of the Holy Spirit. Job Description: The Associate Rector will work closely with the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the mission of Trinity Church to build a community where faith, family and friendships thrive. This will entail providing spiritual guidance and support, developing and executing ministry, events and outreach, assisting in leading services, and managing the day-to-day operations of the church. There will be a lot of freedom and collaboration to continue building up Trinity Church for the future.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to members of the church and community
- Identify and develop leaders
- Lead worship services and special events
- Preach, teach and disciple
- Oversee church staff, volunteers and ministries
- Develop and execute outreach vision and programs
- Initiate and maintain meaningful relationships with church members and future church members
- Work with Jr. Warden to oversee care of facilities
Requirements and Qualifications
- Degree in theology (preferably MDiv or equivalent)
- 3+ of experience as a pastor
- Ordained within the Anglican tradition; otherwise ordained in a similar tradition with a willingness to be ordained within Anglicanism
- Demonstrated leadership and pastoral experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
