New AMiA Deacons
Chuck Higdon
Chuck Higdon was ordained as an AMiA deacon at St. Patrick’s Church in Dallas by Bishop Phillip Jones on May 18, 2025. Chuck and his wife, Deborah, were called to the church planting of St. Patrick’s and Chuck has coordinated Sunday volunteers for a number of years. After a 43-year career in all aspects of oil & gas exploration, production, marketing and financial trading, Chuck retired in April of 2022. In 2023, Chuck heard the call of Christ to serve his church and people as a Deacon with an emphasis in ministry support and as a chaplain to those home-bound, sick, or in hospital. Jay Baker
On Saturday, May 31, the Rt. Rev. Robert Cook ordained the Rev. Jay Baker to the diaconate at St. Andrew’s Church in Little Rock. Jay, his wife, Catie, and their five children live in Searcy, AR, and have attended St Andrew’s for five years. While open to serving in an established church, Jay feels most called to planting new churches that make the holistic approach to faith of the Anglican expression more available to the un-churched. In recent years, he has put significant effort into creating and leading a small home fellowship in his home town with the hope of growing it into a church plant in the future.
