Seeing God’s Provision in the Planting Process

By Allison Kalteyer, member of the St. Patrick’s Dallas launch team

My husband, Robert, and I have seen God’s grace, provision and faithfulness firsthand since being involved in the planting of St. Patrick’s Anglican Church in Dallas, Texas.

The road to finding St. Patrick’s first began in mid-2020. The season of 2020 has been a challenging, isolating time for many. With this season, we felt called to find a new church home as we had a deep longing to connect intimately with a fellow body of believers.

We were drawn to the Anglican style of worship as it is rich in tradition and liturgy. After meeting Mark+ Walz and learning of the church plant that was practically in our backyard, we knew there was a reason we were called to join. Before our church had a physical home, we met on the lawn of the Walzes’ home. It was a special time to get to know each other on a personal level, to invest in each other’s lives and to build a sense of community.

Robert and I wanted the chance to serve and to grow in our faith. What we found has been so much more. We have not only found a place to worship, but a place that speaks God’s truth. We are a church that exists to make disciples who know Jesus personally and find their home in Him.

One of our faith-stretching milestones was trusting that the Lord would provide a building and bring people in the doors each Sunday to worship. He provided a place in partnership with the Midway Hills Christian Church in early September. We trust that the Lord will continue to be faithful in bringing those who want to know Jesus. Our church consists of people all ages from every generation.

Being a part of a church plant is an opportunity that I would encourage all to participate in at some point in their lives. We’ve seen the importance of trusting God’s sovereignty over this mission and the importance of coming to serve as you are. We have had the opportunity to serve the church behind the scenes, whether it be as a crucifer, greeter, chalice bearer or Scripture reader.

Our goal at St. Patrick’s is to be radically devoted to God and one another. As St. Patrick was known for spreading the good news of Jesus Christ across Ireland, it is our hope that St. Patrick’s Anglican Church will also be known for spreading the good news in Dallas, one member at a time, one service at a time.

Robert and Allison Kalteyer reside in Dallas, Texas and were part of the launch team for St. Patrick’s. They enjoy traveling, exploring new restaurants and spending time with their rescue dogs, Tess and Bindy.
