Winter Conference 2017 – Behold What Comes

Anticipation is building for our 2017 Winter Conference January 25-28 in Dallas, Texas.

The Lord has given me what I believe to be not only the theme for our time together next January but also a clear vision of our mission. In the BCP page 540, there is a prayer for the church “…let the whole world see and know that things which were being cast down are being raised up, and things which had grown old are being made new, and that all things are being brought to their perfection by him through whom all things were made…” biblical warrant for this incredible vision comes to us from II Corinthians 5:17 “…the old has passed away; behold, the new has come…”

The old ways of operating in a Christian or semi-Christian culture are over. We live much more in a time characterized by the New Testament culture. This is a pivotal time for the AMiA. To survive and thrive in this culture is to continue to trust the biblical mandate set forth in the great commission and the great commandment. It looks something like this: evangelism makes disciples into leaders which build church communities. Freedom has been given to us and we lay down our lives for a greater purpose. We are structured for this very important purpose for such a time as this. As a missionary society, together, we must rally around the truth of what Jesus says in Mark 1:17 “and Jesus said to them, follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Follow, lead and grow.

Our witness as disciples of Christ must come first. The biblical DNA of being a disciple of Christ will show results in the bearing of good fruit in all kinds of ways. This must be where our physical, spiritual and financial resources are focused; poured into being the disciples he created us to be.

Behold what comes? Things which are cast down are being raised up. Biblical, spirit-filled, missionary Christianity. And things which have grown old are being made new; this kind of missionary zeal creates new disciples. Healthy disciples become leaders. Healthy leaders grow church communities, and healthy church communities will bring about a robust Anglicanism rooted in love and in truth.

Begin now praying for your disciples and leaders and others in your communities that you can invite to this Winter Conference and let us all see “Behold What Comes.” Registration can be found here.
