It has been quite the busy summer on the Carolina coast!

The Abbey at Pawley’s Island has moved into a beautiful new building which was dedicated and consecrated back in April. Barely a year ago–last August–Bishop Murphy led his congregation through a special litany to bless and give thanks for the new chapel that was barely underway. Now, that chapel is built and joyfully inhabited by the Abbey. To see pictures of the new chapel, click here.

Along with a new building, the Abbey’s children’s ministry has been growing throughout the summer and is excited to start out on new ventures of their own. Over the last few months, there have been camps and backyard bashes. The first vacation Bible school in the new chapel gathered eighty-five children! Because of this wonderful growth, the Abbey is starting a new mid-week ministry for children. Beginning September 7, 3-11 year-olds will be invited on Wednesday evenings for teaching, games, and dinner.

We thank God for His faithful growth of His church on Pawley’s Island!
