Canon Kevin Donlon, AMIA’s Canon for Ecclesiastical Affairs, recently traveled to the Dunkwa-On-Offin Diocese in Ghana. In this update, he shares about their recent synod and some of the ways God is at work in the Diocese:


 

Signing of the Concordat

On November 27-29, the Diocese of Dunkwa-On-Offin held its second Biennial Synod with the theme “His grace is sufficient.”

The Synod culminated with Bishop Edmund renewing the Concordat Partnership with the Anglican Mission USA and Canada.

Attending the Synod was a delegation led by Canon Kevin Donlon with Bishop Carl Buffington, Bishop Emissary of the Diocese of Boga, the Rev Fr. David Brookman, and the Rev. Fr. Christopher Caudle .They were joined by special guests of the Diocese, Deacon Barbara and Tom Kuhn whose family gift through a bequest established the Bishops Court project which has created a Conference and Training Center and a Guest House to expand the ministry of the Diocese.

Other highlights included:

  • Bishop Buffington as guest preacher for the Synod
  • Fr. Christopher Caudle being installed as honorary Canon at the Cathedral of St. Anthony for dedicated service to the partnership.
  • The ordination of two new priests for the Diocese.
  • Canon Donlon addressing Synod on the Mission Partnerships
  • Fr. Brookman delivering Harvest gifts to the neediest parishes in the Diocese on behalf of Anglican Mission/Florida

The renewal of the Concordat is a commitment by the Anglican Mission and the Diocese to promote common mission initiatives through local collaboration and ministry partnerships.
