Bishop Philip JonesLast week was American Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays of the year. Even though it can feel at times as just a speed bump on the way to Christmas, I try to make time to reflect on the things I am thankful for. This year, I find myself especially grateful for our Missionary Society.

At our Clergy Retreat in October, I was reminded of all the meaningful relationships I have in AMIA. We had such a wonderful time of fellowship and powerful times of ministry. It meant so much to me to be with many of you in person, sitting down with one on one or over a meal and really getting to know you and your passion for your ministry. I am so grateful for each one of you and for what you bring to the Anglican Mission. As I reflect back on our time together in Little Rock, it causes me to look forward with excitement to next February and Winter Conference 2016, our annual clergy and lay members gathering. I hope to see you there!

Last month, after one of our staff meetings, I asked our All Saints Dallas staff to stay and listen in on the planning meeting for Winter Conference. I have been privy to all the behind the scenes progressions, developing the vision for the conference and helping Ken+ Dean, this year’s coordinator, to project the vision. I was blown away by the enthusiasm and passion shown by the All Saints staff and the insightful suggestions they gave. Our staff and our parishioners are really excited that you are going to visit us in February!

To accommodate everyone at the conference, we will actually be located in the city of Addison, just north of Dallas. It is a wonderful town with every restaurant conceivable, some within walking distance (7-10 blocks) and others accessible via the complimentary hotel shuttle. We are working closely with the fantastic staff at the Marriott Quorum to put together a time of worship, fellowship, growing and learning. Our registration page is live and we will also have a webpage hosted by the Marriott during the conference with all the details and accessible via your phone or laptop.

Our featured speaker will be Simon Ponsonby. Simon will speak to us about God the Holy Spirit and his critical role in our life as a missionary society.

God is doing mighty works in our churches and communities. We at All Saints Dallas feel truly thankful and blessed to be hosting Winter Conference 2016 and welcoming you all to our city. I’m looking forward to hearing from our chaplains, our associate pastors, our worship leaders and our lay leaders.  Each one of you is critical to the success of The Anglican Mission.  Please make plans now to be a part of Winter Conference 2016!

Giving thanks for you,
